Magistrate Su visited the Beigang Township Historical Map Exhibition, hope to establish more small museums in the region.

On May 11th, Yunlin County Magistrate Ms. Su ChihFen made a special visit to Beigang Township Visitor Center, where the Beigang Township the Historical Map Exhibition is taking place. The map exhibition includes a 370 years old map painted in 1640th. Magistrate Su surprised by the variety exhibit display, despite the limited space of small museum. In addition, Su wishes to establish additional small museum aim to provide knowledge and experience of local culture and tradition.
 
Director of Taiwan Sustainable Union, Mr. Tsu ShiNeng point out, map plays an important role to both travel arrangement and history study. This 1st annual map exhibition is arranged by Taiwan Sustainable Union, which assists the county government operating the visitor center. The variety of exhibits provides valuable information that visitor can learn and study the historical development of Beigang Township.
 
Director Tsu explains to Magistrate Su, based on the historical map, the ancient Masu Temple, also known as Beigang Chao-Tian Temple, was in fact located north of Beigang River. The historical value of this fact was very valuable, since historical map only showed the Temple itself without marking of its location.
 
Magistrate Su said, the county government planned and established the Beigang Culture Center. From the county government’s stand point, every local township or neighborhood has its unique stories and culture worth exhibiting. It benefits the local tourism industry and teaches the local young knowledge of their hometown.
 
Beigang Visitor Center is a multifunctional space, not only serve as information exchange platform, and for those interested in cultural and historical information study. The Beigang Township Historical Map Exhibition is available from May 1st to May 31th, and invites both those interested to learn, and those willing to provide and expand our exhibits.
