Adult day care centers is opened at Dapi Township

A Dapi Township newly constructed adult day care center grand opened on May 30th at BeiHe Village, Dapi Township. The center will serve meal for more than 100 senior citizens in the Township, starting from June 1st. Magistrate Su Chih-Fen wishes senior citizens to develop interests from their daily life, such as cooking with their home grown ingredients. Additionally, Magistrate Su also encourages the senior citizens pay frequent visit to the day care center to meet new friends.
 
Magistrate Su Chih-Fen, Dapi Township Mayor Mr. Hsieh MingPing, Elderly Association Chairman Mr. Ding Yifeng, Dapi Township Council Chairperson Mr. Wu MaoSong, County Representatives Mr. Shen MingKung, Mr. Lin ChaoBao, and Ms. Chien TzuFang, Farmers Association Director-General Mr. Wu ChinLiang, Social Affairs Department Director-General Mr. Ting YenChe, County Government Adviser Mr. Chang TsungMing, with former township Mayor Mr. Chen ShuChi, local representatives, village Chiefs, and 200 local residents, together witness the unveiling ceremony. The day care center will serve meal, provide recreation area and fitness equipment, and establish Elderly Academy to encourage seniors become more socially active.
 
Magistrate Su said, the county government passed an $ 8.5 million senior citizen community enhancement project, to construct a 150 tsubo adult day care center. The exterior construction was completed. Last year county government invested in additional features such as kitchen, fitness center, and security. It satisfied local resident’s demand and create an ideal day care center for both leisure and learning.
 

Township Mayor Mr. Hsieh MingPing and County Government Social Affairs Department Director Mr. Ting YenChe said, the adult day care center will be managed by the Elderly Association after the grand open. The center will begin serving lunch meal starting June 1st, charge for middle and low income households will be waived. Regarding the possibility of serving dinner, county government said all things are considered once additional the plan and funds are a reality.
