For these who love movies, you wont want to miss this great opportunity. This years European Film Festival, which will run on every weekend from Nov 10 to Dec 9 in Douliu Xing Qi Memorial Hall(行啟記念館) at 7:00PM, will feature various films from all over Europe. People can get a chance to enjoy different style of film, it is an event that you dont want to miss.
Chen Feng-Jiao(陳鳳嬌), from Countys Cultural Affair Dept, said that the annual film festival is a result of collaboration between European Economic and Trade Office (EETO) and INFINE (上苑文化). In the past, this festival is only available to the university and college students in Yunlin; and starting from this year, the organizers of the festival want to expand this event and made it available to everyone so that people can get to know the rich history of Europes art, cultural, and people. That is the reason the Film Festival is held in Douliu Xing Qi Memorial Hall(行啟記念館) and is open to everyone, free of charge.
Li Yun-Peng(李雲鵬), the director of Xing Qi Memorial Hall, who had study and work in Europe for over a decade said that he really enjoy European films and believe they are better than Hollywood movies in certain ways, particularly European films has a lot more literature elements and often touches peoples heart. This years film festival will have award-wining films from UK, Poland, Slovakia, Denmark, Hungary, Spain, French, Czech Republic, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg, and Belgium. It is a perfect opportunity if you like films or just want to expand your horizon.
