Effort in promote Siluo(西螺) rice by Yunlin County has finally pay off! Chairman of Breeze Center Paul Liao (廖偉志) promised that the food court of Breeze Center at Taipei Main Station will gradually switching to using rice from Siluo Farmers Association. County Magistrate Su Chih-Fen said, food court in Breeze Center at Taipei Main Station is biggest of its kind in Taiwan and the decision of using Silio rice is an assurance of the quality of the rice.
In order to raise the awareness of aboriginal children and children with Downs syndrome as well as promoting rice for Yunlin County, Breeze Center and Taiwan Railway has built a 4 storey hight Christmas tree inside Taipei Main Station. During the opening ceremony last night, County Magistrate Su Chih-Fen made a special appearance to personally thank Paul Liao for the opportunity to promote Yunlin rice; a way to reduce the impact of the recent poison rice incident.
Paul Liao praises the quality of the Siluo rice and repeatedly assure the rice is safe to consume. During the opening ceremony last night, Liao promised that the food court will be using Sulio rice in all the meal it serve. In addition, Liao also points out the nutritional benefits when consume Sulio rice.
Guests attended last night ceremony include the Second Lady CAI LING-YI(蔡令怡), Taipei Mayor Hau Lung-bin(郝龍斌), Legislator May Chin (高金素梅) and Paul Liao (廖偉志). In support Legislator Lee Ying-yuan (李應元), everyone were all holding the Sulio rice and giving their endorsements and urge people to buy Sulio, which are grown alongside Taiwans most fertile river, Zhuoshui River(濁水溪).
Yunlin County Magistrate Su Chih-Fen emphasized, food court in Breeze Center at Taipei Main Station is largest of its kind in Taiwan and has more than 50 restaurants inside. By having Sulio rice for sale in this food court alone, it is a huge guarantee to the rices quality and safety. In addition to promoting Sulio rice, Breeze Center also organized a charity event to raise the awareness for aboriginal children and children with Downs syndrome. Yunlin County Government and Sulio Farmers Association is extremely grateful for the generosity and contribution of Breeze Center and Mr. Liao.
