On the tenth of this month, a special debut of the movie, The Rooftop, is playing at the White House Cinemas in Huwei Township. This movie takes place in Siluo Township of Yunlin County and attracts 300 fans to watch. Expecting to gain fame and fortune as Siluo Bridge, the movie could bring prosperity to Yunlin. As pointed out by Hu Mu-Cheng, the Information Department Director, the scene of the movie is based on places from Siluo Township; hence, it could attract crowds to come to visit Yunlin after they have seen the movie. It will submerge visitors in the atmosphere of the movie as they tour on the Yanping Street and the East Market.
Mr. Hu said that Siluos "Cultural & Creative Marketplace of the East Market" or for short "East Market" is the second place to be promoted as an art, culture, and innovation site after Siluo Bridge. Using such places for promotional purpose for Yunlin, visitors can better enjoy their staying here and improve their life value.
Section chief Xu Zhong-Li adds that Yunlin has beautiful, rich cultural landscapes and a unique caring community that draw more and more shooting crew to come here to make their films. For instance, last years My Dear Stilt (2012) and Taiwan Hollywood (2012); and this years Lucky Touch all filmed in Yunlin. Again, we welcome all to come here for pleasure or for business.
The Rooftop reflects what Belle Epoque is in the eyes of Jay Chou, the director of the movie. It fills with many of his fantasy and ingenuity and also reflect how he wants to live in real life. He even injects his portrait in the protagonist "Lang Zi-Gao".
The famous Jay Chou directed and starred in this movie so if you would like to see where he had been in the movie, you can joint the special event, which reproduces the scene, and will be held from July 1 to July 31 at the "East Market" on Yanping Street in Siluo Township. On the 13th, the movie company will invite the record producer Will Liu to uncloak the movie gallery and will share the commentary of this movie.
