Yunlin county government held a "safety in oil; food is ready to Go!" label press meeting at
the county hall lobby this afternoon, the 24th. Vice county mayor Shi personally gave every
manufacturer a certified label, hoping to gain more consumers trust in Yunlin-made cooking oil,
and giving consumers a promise and safer choice.
Vice county mayor Shi indicated, the label is meant for consumers to distinguish between
true and fake oil products, and further eliminating shoppers stress. Warning consumers not
to purchase unknown cooking oil. If there is any question or problem, please call 1950 and a
representative will provide you with assistance.
Department of Health director Zhao Jun Wu also pointed out, promoting "safety in oil; food is
ready to Go!" is to provide consumers with health safety. Department of Health continued the
inspection on manufacturing ingredients, productions, labels, imports, and goods, to check if
any part of the procedure is illegal against the health regulations. If all inspections are approved,
manufacturers will received a certified label, to give consumers an ease of mind.
Up till October 23rd, the department has continued the inspection and evaluated 35
manufacturing firms; In addition, Sending 11 100% oil samples back to Food and Drug
Administration for testing, which scored good results. Among all 136 food retailers, Chang Chi
Foodstuff Factory Co., LTD. had 3969 oil products put off the shelf.
