The gas explosion happened on July 31st in Kaoshiung City, has caused severe damage

and death. At 8 a.m., August 1st, Yunlin magistrate Su held a meeting with department of

infrastructure, fire, health, labor, and environment regarding this accident. oil, gas, and pipes

are the maintenance targets in the meeting discussion. Yunlin county government will conduct

disaster-prevention conference and maintenance evaluation to avoid similar accident to happen.

Vice magistrate Shi and fire department chair Dai will lead a rescue team in support of the aid

and restoration for Kaohsiung at 5 p.m. today.

"This time dispatching fire trucks, spot light trucks, ambulance, emergency truck, four other

rescue vehicles, and 10 special rescue operation team members equipped with sonar detector

and video display and necessary destruction tools. Before departure, vice magistrate reassured

magistrate Sus instruction that Yunlins teams will serve their best to assist Greater Kaoshiungs

disaster recovery. said Fire department chair Dai.

Yunlin Environment Department chair Zheng indicated, the distribution of gasoline and

natural gas via underground pipeline reserves distribution costs. The Environment Department

has requested each gasoline and chemical companies to provide their pipeline blueprint and

maintenance procedure. On August 6th, County Government will hold a meeting inviting

labor, fire, environment department, CPC Corp, Formosa Plastics Corp, Shinyun Gas Corp to

participate. Pipeline blueprints and construction plans will be discussed in depth during the

conference.

an establishment of burning treatment center to the public security and health department. In

addition, magistrate Su advised maintaining a high level inspection and precaution.
