Start June, health bureau has been against the county’s ice cold drinks industry to
expand health inspectors and counseling for the protection of consumers can buy
cool, safety and health of ice products. Furthermore bureau is counseling industry
to implement self-health management in process of selling. Health bureau had done
sample testing of 81 commercially available ice products to inspection bacterial
count, coliforms and E. coli and other projects. In the results, 8 products, one for
bacterial count excess, four for excessive coliform and three for both coliform and
bacterial count while excess, are inconsistent hygiene standards. Base on violation,
health bureau used food safety and health administration law article 17 in accordance
with the Act 48 and the industries ordered deadline to improve health during the
process immediately. After retesting, the products are in compliance with the required
standards.
The bacterial count and coliform excess are the product lines for health indicators also
represent the ingredients contaminated. The reasons are poor water quality and poor
manufacturing workplace health and improper storage of raw materials or finished
products and poor personal hygiene operator and such as caused by unclean food
containers. Health bureau will continued auditing and counseling every industry.
Therefore, when consumers are in the purchase of edible ice cold, they better be
observed on-site production and also whether selling places of environmental health.
In fact consumers also can be aware of clerk hands are clean or have to wear
accessories or the containers are clean or for refrigerated (cold) of the ingredients
are stored at 7 °C (-18 °C) below the refrigerator or raw materials, such as whether
