Periodic health examination for foreign workers is very important, the county department said that employers should arrange health examinations to designated hospitals for foreign workers within 3 days of entry, and within 30 days before and after upon 6, 18, 30 months into work. The foreign worker should keep the qualified record, while the disqualified files should be filed with local health administration within 15 days after receiving the retest diagnosis certificate.
In the case of switching employer, the new employer should arrange health examination for the foreign worker within the specified period. If it’s a case of renewing employment period, or expiring health exam, the new employer should arrange the checkup to appointed hospital within 7 days of renewing the employment.
The Labor Department pointed out that agent’s action reflects that of the principal, on the legal ground. Therefore, Employers should still perform the supervisory duties and understand related policies and regulations, even though he or she engaged the agency to handle the foreign worker application process. Any violations will be fined in the amount of NTD 60,000~300,000.
