Yunlin County Government held the 27th ad hoc meeting for the 2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival on October 28th. The meeting focuses on investigating the transportation system to align with the Taiwan Lantern Festival program, providing free shuttles for many locations to accommodate for many different traveler’s needs.
Magistrate Li Jinyong has instructed that the transportation system be devised exactly like previous Lantern Festivals. Preparations will be made to facilitate possible congestions with crowds and traffic, so that visiting travelers will feel at home and be able to have an enjoyable experience at the 2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival.
Magistrate Li Jinyong expresses that the biggest challenge for the Taiwan Lantern Festival is going to be organizing the transportation system. In addition to carefully planning the transportation distribution, the county government will also examine and learn from the traffic conditions other cities encountered from previous Taiwan Lantern Festivals.
Yunlin County Government is making preparations for potential problems in advance so that traffic planning can properly assist all the visitors attending the Yunlin Lantern Festival.
2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival will begin on the 11th of February, 2017. In order to smoothly allow people to visit the 2017 Taiwan Lantern Festival, Yunlin County Government has developed a plan to pick up visitors from various locations:
Local buses for Dounan and Douliu Train Station
Intercity shuttle buses for Changhua County, Chiayi City, and Chiayi County
Lantern shuttle buses for Huwei – Beigang Districts
Shuttle buses for volunteers
Opening reserved parking P7, located at the intersection of Yong’an St. and Xinsheng 1st Rd., Dounan Township
There are 7 different types of Lantern Festival shuttles traveling from reserved parking P1 (Ma Zu Hospital, Beigang) to Huwei and Beigang Districts.
Yunlin County Government welcomes visitors to use the transportation provided. During the opening ceremony, closing ceremony and holiday periods, more shuttles will be running to assist visitors to travel more frequently to avoid congestion.
Furthermore, Huwei and Beigang lantern areas will have transfer stations to allow visitors to easily travel to their desired locations. We hope to distribute visitors to different locations in the most efficient time.
