Chi Po-lin, an internationally known Taiwanese Director, tragically passed away last month. To pay tribute to this renown director, Yunlin County will be hosting three special screening sessions of Chi Po-lin’s award-winning documentary, “Beyond Beauty – Taiwan From Above” at two locations; July 16th and August 6th 2:30 pm at Yunlin County Cultural Center and July 22nd 2:30 pm at Beigang Cultural Center.
The Cultural Center points out that this documentary “Beyond Beauty – Taiwan From Above” took nearly 3 years to film, totaling up to 400 hours of helicopter footage. The full aerial documentary shares a glimpse of the beauty of Taiwan from a different perspective. With a calm, soothing narration from Wu Nianzhen accompanied by a beautiful soundtrack from Ricky Ho (Ho Guojie), Director Chi Po-lin takes us on a journey hovering over grand mountains and majestic seas followed by a portrayal of the lifestyle differences, from farmlands to cities. This film shows the full image of Taiwan, both the good and the bad. Seeing all sides of Taiwan allows viewers to get a good grasp of the true beauty of the country.
