Issuing Agency: Yunlin County Revenue Service Bureau
To continue promoting energy conservation and carbon reduction, encourage the public to use low‑pollution vehicles, and align with the government’s transportation electrification policy and the goal of “Net‑Zero Emissions by 2050,” the amendment to Article 5 of the Vehicle License Tax Act has passed its third reading in the Legislative Yuan and has been promulgated by the President. The amendment authorizes municipalities and county (city) governments to extend the tax exemption period for fully electric‑powered vehicles until December 31, 2030.
The Yunlin County Taxation Bureau explained that, in response to national policy, for “electric automobiles” and “electric motorcycles” registered in Yunlin County and powered entirely by electricity, the Bureau will automatically extend the vehicle license tax exemption period to December 31, 2030, without requiring taxpayers to file an application.
For inquiries regarding vehicle license tax, the public is welcome to call the toll‑free numbers 0800‑000321 (National and Local Taxes) or 0800‑556969 (Yunlin County Taxation Bureau). Dedicated staff members will be available to assist you.
