On the eve before the Valentine’s Day, Yunlin county government hosted a Valentine’s celebration event on February 12 to promote Yunlin floriculture. The county government selected the Huwei Puppet Museum as the event location, and aimed to benefit the local grower promotes its very own local grown flower. An exclusive flower corridor had been built and expressed best wishes to the lovers.
The Splendid Flora event at Huwei Township attracts many couples’ interests and their enrollments. Audiences include Economic Affairs Department Acting Director, Mr. Chang, ShiChung, Huwei Township Mayor Mr. Lin WenBin and roughly a hundred locals and visitors, together giving it their best wishes to the couples.
Acting Director Mr. Chang noted, six types of flowers are largely gowned in Huwei, include roses, tuberoses, chrysanths, lisianthus, orchids and gladioluses. These flowers are popular among the domestic market, and receive great feedback from the newly explored Japan market. This event purposed to enhance local’s knowledge and generated support to Yunlin floriculture.
Huwei Township Mayor Mr. Lin expressed, locally grown flowers such as lisianthus are beautiful high quality flowers, and one of the major export flowers to Japan. Each year attracts foreign visitors’ attention to learn the knowledge of cultivate it. Other than the fact that Huwei is home to the sugar industry and puppet art, it is also one of the largest flower growing and producing center among the nation.
