New grads have often strayed into trap, fraud, been requested to provide personal information, or other unreasonable requests. The Labor Department hosted a workshop on Defrauding and Keeping Personal Privacy for Job Seekers in various high schools, technical school, and colleges across the county to educate students on fraud related laws through dramas and other lively forms of approach.
12 workshops of the Defrauding and Keeping Personal Privacy for Job Seekers were hosted in Tuku Business School and Technical School, Yifeng High School, Dade Technical School, and Doming Middle School, Dacheng Business and Technical School, and Douliu Home Economic School. A total of 3,540 students benefited from the workshops.
The Chief of Labor Department Zhang Chengzhe said, job seekers should follow a 3 Yes’s and 7 No’s Principle when hunting for jobs.
3 Yes’s:
To have a family member or friend accompanied, or at least to keep them informed of the place and time of the interviews.
To confirm the authenticity of the job posting
To thoroughly research on the recruiting company
7 No’s:
No pay
No buy
No card application
No signing of contract
No leaving ID behind
No drinking of unidentified beverages
No illegal work
The Labor Department further stresses that employers may not inquire job applicants for any privacy data which are not related to the nature of the position.
