The Yunlin County Police Department Criminal Investigation Division 2 formed a special team, led by prosecutor Chen Zeming, to investigate further after receiving clues on drug cartels trafficking. The specialists arrested two suspects Zhang and Lin in Jiayi County Minxiong Township on 14th of this month, after 2 months of investigations and evidence collecting. A search was performed at Zhang’s house and 15 bags of amphetamine (totaled 57 gram) and an electronic scale was found.
The Police special force has obtained the information through surveillance of Zhang and Lin’s communications that a cartel was formed to traffic drugs in the Jiayi Minxiong area, covering 9 townships across mountains and coasts. Followed by the arrest on 14th, at 5am in the morning of 15th, the Yunlin County police and the gendarmeries send 22 policemen to the townships in Jiayi and summoned 6 dealers for interrogations. The case was forwarded to the Jiayi District Court Prosecutors Office for further investigations while the upstream source of drugs is still under search in effort to maintain public security.
