Issued by: Animal and Plant Disease Control Center
The 2025 National Animal Protection Year-End Liaison Meeting was held on December 4–5 at the Janfusun International Conference Hall in Gukeng Township, Yunlin County. Organized by the Yunlin County Animal and Plant Disease Control Office and chaired by Deputy Director Chen Zhong-Xing of the Animal Protection Division, Ministry of Agriculture, the event brought together animal protection authorities from across the country, animal welfare associations, and academic research institutions. The meeting focused on reviewing annual policy implementation results and exploring future directions through cross-sector exchanges.
This year’s discussions centered on four major areas: pet management, protection of economic, laboratory, and performance animals, and management of stray dogs. Representatives from various counties and cities actively shared local implementation experiences, challenges, and innovative practices, while exchanging views on the current status and future plans of central government policies. Through practical inter-county exchanges, the goal is to strengthen collaboration between central and local authorities and enhance overall governance effectiveness in animal protection.
The Yunlin County Animal and Plant Disease Control Office stated that this meeting was not only a review of annual achievements but also an important platform for building consensus and working together for animal welfare. Moving forward, Yunlin will continue close cooperation with central and local governments as well as civil organizations to promote more comprehensive animal welfare and management systems, creating a friendly environment where humans and animals coexist harmoniously.
