This is the 7th year of the Purple Milkweed Butterflies Festival in Linnei Township and it has been aroused the world towards the purple milkweed butterflies conservation. On the two weekends, the event will be held from March 30 to April 7th of this year. And it will be a wonderful experience for anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty of the butterflies.
During the press conference, the ex-Magistrate Li Jin Yong and Linnei Township Mayor Qiu Shi Wen wave and hold high the purple milkweed butterflies banner, a symbol of them fluttering trippingly to Linnei Township. They hope more people will come to visit the butterflies and develop awareness of the butterflies’ ecological habitat.
Li states that Linnei Township has good Feng Shui for Purple Milkweed Butterflies to grow so in order to protect them we should be their good neighbor and care for them.
Qiu, in addition, welcomes friends from overall Taiwan to joint the festival in Linnei Township to not only enjoy the beauty of the Purple Milkweed Butterflies but also the unique natural and cultural atmosphere of Linnei Township; this will be a rewarding experience claimed by Qiu.
The Purple Milkweed Butterflies Festival will be held not only at the Township Office but at two other sacred places: Cheng Gong elementary school of Pingding and the Chukou culvert. In addition, you can also find the festival at Lin Zhong elementary school next to the Linnei Park and in the Linnei train station.
Many activities will be held at the event locations: the main venue at the Township Office with its slogan “Impression, Purple butterflies” will have parade competition, children rhythm games, children theatre show, lottery, butterfly recollections DIY, and other exciting activities
Linnei train station will offer a 3D butterfly painting; this will be a fine collection to your photo album. In addition, an air cushioned playground is set up at the entrance of the Chukou culvert, and other surprises will be available at other sites.
