Recently, news about toxic lunch boxes has been storming across our everyday life. Many have said that toluene, a toxic substance, is being used to wipe clean excess ink from the lunch boxes by the product manufacturers. Another news also reported that manufacturers used non-food-grade inks on the lunch boxes. In order to ease our readers mind when they read our magazine "Go Farmer! Agriculture Expo Information Blog" is been printed on recycled paper and uses environmental friendly soy ink. As stated by Chen Yong-Shi, the magazine editor, it is the spirit of Agriculture Expo.
Yunlin County Government published bimonthly magazines, "Go Farmer! Agriculture Expo Information Blog," which reports mainly the stories of farm life and without excessive redundancy and unnecessary decoration it has been praised by many. Magazine editor, Shen Yong Shi, pointed out that once you have this magazine in your hand you will feel and see the different that it has from other publications; for instance, it uses paper that smells fresh.
"Go Farmer! Agriculture Expo Information Blog" is being printed with environmentally friendly soy ink and on the FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified recycled paper . This is the commitment that the county government is striding for said Magistrate Su. Furthermore, the Agriculture Expo coming at the end of this year is to show how people, the land we live on, and the crops that we grow can work together in harmony. The relationship between sustainable development and environmental protection is in the core of this exhibition, so the county government has put a lot of effort in producing this magazine.
Shen Yong Shi stressed that not only that we used recycled paper and environmental friendly ink to print this magazine, but also we only report contents that are fresh and pure like the morning mountain air. We also leave 5% of the pages to the readers to digest and to think what is the impact to the environment if they have made a slightly change in their life style. Moreover we eliminate unnecessary decoration and materials, especially the politic. We dont emphasize the sorrow or ordeal that the protagonists in each story went through but applause their determination and courage to conquer the unbearable.
The purpose of name of the magazine is to call out to the youth, to encourage farmers, and to create a better farming industry. To match the name of the magazine, the content is carefully selected to report anything that relates to Agriculture Expo. It also emphasizes the fulfillment of the farming life and how we can coexist with our land. It will at the end shows people that Yunlin is the leader in agriculture, and therefore people who live in Yunlin can be proud off.
Second issue of Go Farmer magazine focus on the theme "Sweetness 12," and its issued on August 15. Its a good opportunity to see more about Yunlin.
