Press meeting "2013 Agriculture Expo- Dancing with Dragons" was held on the 8th at Beigang
Chaotian Temple. Contestants and performers, gathered at the temple and publicized Yunlin
culture preservation to local residents. Secretary Zhang Sheng-Zhi and Huang Jun-Yan
represented county major Su to hand out sweat towels and raised the Expo flag while folks
were wearing the towels and promoting the 2013 Agriculture Expo on December 15th at Taipei
marathon.
Secretary Zhang Sheng-Zhi mentioned, "performance troupe is a way to worship the gods
and celebrate harvest when people take a break from farming. It also symbolizes the Expos
motto "people, land, and crops", a triangular chain belief that is calling Yunlins distant travelers
to protect their home traditions, lands, and bliss in the future of Yunlin.
"By taking the opportunity of Taipei marathon, we advertise 2013 Yunlin Agriculture Expo, and
invite all Taiwanese citizens to visit and see Yunlin. Ardently participating in sports activity and
promoting Yunlin culture are effective encouragements for teenagers in their hometown" said
department chair Huang.
Event Organizer Ye Jia-Lin mentioned, "To advocate Beigangs performance troupe culture,
Yunlin officials had 300 contestants and 4 Beigang troupes, wearing the Expo towels at the 2013
Taipei marathon, invite everyone for a visit.
"Chaotian Temple inherits historical and religious cultures. Religious rituals are traditional
cultures legacy and spirit. Beigang is the origin of performance troupe. A group of Beigang kids
who work in Taipei grew up in temples and troupes, and were a part of the culture. Therefore,
they pitched the road marathon project: Dancing with dragons, to further strengthen their sports
and social norms" said Chaotian Temple spokesperson Chen Jian-Yang.
The press will be organizing an easy marathon route as secretary Zhang Sheng-Zhi and Chaotian
Temple spokesperson Chen Jian-Yang set its mark. And contestants and performers will race
to the finish line. The Expo is opened on December 25th. They hope all participants will
successfully finish their race. Onwards and upwards!
