Grand opening of eleventh president cup national roller-skating championship at Yunlin County roller-skating rink on Mar. 20, 2014. Top skaters from the country gathered together at the game. This years championship breaks its record of participating skaters. Xiaowen Qiu, the director of Education Department of Yunlin County Government presence at the opening and represented County Magistrate Ms. Chih-fen Su to encourage 3500 skaters in the game. The champion of the game will represent Taiwan to attend 2014 World Free-style Skating Championship.
First part of the championship will take place at Yunlin County Roller-skating rink on Mar. 21 and 23, the second part of the championship will take place at Yunlin Junior High. The championship includes racing, free-style, figure skating and hockey. The the racing champion on the 29 and 30 will also represent Taiwan for world championship.
Xiaowen indicates that roller-skating has become a national-wide sport. The County Government always supports the development of roller-skating since 2001, therere more and more people enjoy roller skating here at Yunlin. This year, the championship take place at your place, we should do our best. He also expressed special thanks to Chairman of Yunlin County Sports Association for taking the championship to Yunlin.
Xihuang Lai, the Chairman of Yunlin County Sports Association said that roller skating is a sport full of youth and vitality, very suitable for citizens at all age. He hopes that this competition will bring more people to the sport.
