Yunlin County Government and Taiwan Sugar Corporation Work Together to

The Taiwan Sugar Corporation (TSC) has been historically developed in Yunlin for

more than hundred years. Transporters, who deliver sugar canes while eating them

secretly, were once a memory. Unfortunately years after years, sugar cane industry

and its culture were slowly forgotten. Therefore, it is necessary to contain the

precious assets of the sugar cane and maintain an active development on its land for

continuously enjoy this culture by its locals, pointed out by the County Governor Lee

Jinyong.

He further gathered with the Department of Culture, Department of Construction,

Department of Township, Department of Land, and Department of Environmental

Protection Heads to discuss on a project matter with the General Manager of TSC

Hung Tientsai on the 8th. In Hung’s report, TSC owned 6,300 acres of land with over

ten million of tax payment to the government. Beigung and Douliu manufactures has

been stopped and will transformed the land to a tourism spot for visitors.

The land of Taiwan is clouded. It should effectively and efficiently utilize its limited

resources. Additionally, TSC’s asset in which emptied on its land should also turn in

effective on benefiting those citizens. While understanding its assets in which then

discovering new tactics and actively assisting them, the county team should further

earn a bonus, mentioned by Lee Jinyong.

The County Governor Lee has personally met with the CEO to thank him by providing

3,888 acres of land for this project. They have work closely together on this project,

which reorganizing roads and using empty parking spaces, to establish a beauty for

sugar cane industry in Beigung.
