Negotiating the Service Return when Entrusting Real Estate Agents

To ensure your rights, please be advice to carefully evaluate every real estate’s

service info, its professionalism, and its methods for payments. The cost of service

from the housing agents should be less than 6 percent.

The Department of Land in County Government closely reminded each resident, who

purchase houses from real estate agents, should carefully understand each

transactional case and the payable amount to the agent prior signing contracts with

them to prevent any substantial losses.

Further pointed out by the Land Department, the agents should not collect the

reward that surpassed over 6% of the real estate transaction from either buying

from or selling targets, ruled by the Ministry of the Interior. While 6% being the

maximum, the Ministry of the Interior allowed either sellers or buyers to negotiate

and to collect two to four percent of the transaction, as long as not surpassing at its

maximum.

Verified by the government, if the estate agents or companies made more than six

percent of transaction with buying and/or selling parties, not only the agents or the

companies penalized for an extra interest and a double amount of payment return

from its original transaction to the party, but also they will be fined between 60-300

thousands of NT. Additionally, the real estate agents will be punished to temporally

close its business for more than 6 months but under 3 years of time periods.
