Convenient Transportation Networks

  Located in the central part of western Taiwan, Yunlin County is in a key position as a hub of communications. There are five planned east-west roads connecting Off-Shore Industrial Zone to the other parts of the county and an expressway between Taixi and Gukeng Township. For the north-south transportation, there are Trans-island Railway, Freeway No. 1 and No. 3, Xibin Expressway and Tai No. 1, No. 3, No. 17 and No. 19 Provincial Highway.

  All roads mentioned above interweave with the county roads to form a well-connected transportation networks together with the station of Taiwan High-Speed Rail set up in Huwei that will speed up the development and prosperity of the area.

  With regard to the sea transportation, Mailiao Industrial Port is now serving for the 6th Naphtha Cracking Plant, located at Mailiao Section, Offshore Industrial Zone, Formosa Plastic Corporation. After the development of Taixi Section and Sinsing Section are completed, big machine, parts and raw materials can also be imported from the port.

  The system of well-integrated railways, highways and sea transportation has laid a good foundation for Yunlin County of modernization and internationalization.
