To satisfy the population booming after the completion of 6th Naphtha Cracking Plant of Formosa Plastic Corporation and Mailiao Industrial Port, Yunlin County Government is currently making a 3,154-hectare new urban planning which has been approved by Executive Yuan. The new town is closed to the Sixth Naphtha Cracking Plant across the separation channel.
In the plan, the new town will be divided into light industrial, residential, and commercial zones. Total developing time can be divided into 5 stages. It will be completed in 25 years and expected to accommodate 350,000 residents. There is also a 600-hectare international enterprise headquarter planned to upgrade Yunlin Countys competitiveness in the world.
