To provide social security and welfare for the residents, Yunlin County government has handled many social welfare projects including the allowance for the senior, the physically and mentally disabled residents for the Chinese Lunar New Year, the Dragon Boat Festival, and the Moon Festival, the meal-sending service for senior residents who live alone, and providing six vans to the physically disabled residents for on-call service. Yunlin County Government also has built a Women Welfare Building and a Physically Disabled Welfare Building and gives each new-borne baby an allowance of 5,000 NT dollars since August. 2002.
