Avoid contact with Bird and Poultry in case of getting H7N9

Disease Control centre had confirmed with Hong Kong on 27th December 2014 that

a new case of H7N9. Infection patient age 68 and isolation in hospital from heavy

fever together with pneumonia. Disease Control centre indicate that infection patient

had been to Shenzun.

From 1st of October of last year onwards, cases with H7N9 had been discovered all

over China including Alert and Watch region. Total of 472 cases confirmed on 2013:

(1)China had 476, (2) Hong Kong had 11, (3) Taiwan had 4 and (4) Malaysia had 1.

182 death was announced by WHO on 18th of December.

Health Bureau of Yunlin County reminds local people that going to China should

avoid contacting with bird and poultry, especially not picking up dead bird and

poultry, as well as consuming any product related. At the same time personal

hygiene is important to avoid infection. Furthermore, if any sign of fever or flu like

symptom should inform airport stuff and seek for doctor when land.
