Typhoon Dujuan just swept Taiwan drastically and flooded many farmlands. The typhoon has resulted in not only increasing prices of vegetables and fruits but cornfield thefts as well. The Yunin County Huwei Police Station has initiated a special program “Protect the Farms” to re-enforce night patrolling, and to question bypassing cars and persons against the identities of the farm workers. The police have investigated and check all surveillance record alone the Yuanchang township theft trail for potential suspects. The Huwei police station also asks farmers to cooperate when questioned, and to report to the police if any suspicious trespassers witnessed. Let’s work together and protect the hard work of farmers.
