Taiwan Yunlin District Prosecutors Office and the Yunlin County Police Department planned the “guns and drugs reconnaissance project”, “reduce gambling project”, and “find stolen goods project” for 3 consecutive days between 10/20~10/22, in aim to reduce circulation of illegal weapons, drugs and goods, and to increase the public security prior to the 14th presidential election and the 9th legislator election. Under the three projects, 2 cases of illegal weapon possessions involving 2 men and 2 guns were seized (including 1 underground arsenal and 4 transformed pistols), 3 cases of illegal gun possessions involving 2 men and 3 piece of air guns were seized; 7 cases of drug possessions with 12 men (109.6 gram of drugs of various level of offense), 108 cases of drug use with 12 men involved, 4 cases of gambling with 8 men, and 22 cases of burglaries with 16 men. A fruitful results for the effort.
The Taiwan Yunlin District Prosecutors Office and Yunlin County Police Department jointly express that it is costly to consumer drugs, which can result in increasing number of burglaries and theft. In addition to the continuous effort to go after these violations, special enforcement projects of large scale will also be taking place without prior notice, in aim to reduce circulation of illegal weapons, drugs and goods, and to increase the public security prior to the 14th presidential election and the 9th legislator election.
