The statutory normal working hours will decrease to 40 hours per week from 84 hours per 2 weeks, starting 1/1/105. The county government labor department said, employers should keep the attendance sheet of employees for 5 years. The record should indicate down to minute, the clock-in and clock-out situation. Also, the employer should not refuse to provide copy of the attendance sheet, when asked for by the employee. Any violation will be fined for no less than 20,000NTD and no more than 30,000NTD.
With regard to the shorten national holidays (down to 12 days) under the new working hours regulated by Sec. 23 on the Enforcement Rules of Labor Standards Act, please note that it has not been amended yet.
