There were 15 thousand amount of joss paper burned every year, since more than 800 temples in Yunlin county. As religious activities need tons of firework and joss paper, toxic substance were produced by using those materials.
In order to keep environment clean, county government promotes “Fresh Yunlin- Green temple”. There are 60% of temple has cut the materials usage and 140 tons fireworks were fired on Mazu wandering, its 10% less than last year.
Yunlin county government will continuously promote reducing firework and joss paper, keep environment clean. More and more citizens realize to maintain our environment.
