| Graduated form Department of Fine Arts, Taiwan Normal University and specialized in watercolor painting, CHIEN was initiated by Masters LIN, Chi-chu and CHANG, Xi-ching while he’s studying at Taichung Normal School. Having won the first place of the provincial fine arts exhibitions held for public service and teachers in 1984 and 1985, his works were selected to show in provincial and national fine arts exhibitions. He had been the President of the Fine Arts Society of the Central Taiwan and an executive director of Nippon Modern Arts Exhibition, Japan. He observes and learns from real life when he creates. His works are expressed in a vivid, daring and transparent mood, in which he wants to deliver the aesthetics that “balance is beauty”. He uses landscape as the subject of his painting added in loving care. And the subjects of his water color paintings are mostly landscape and figures. |
